• The criteria for selection are based on merit
• The DTE Assam’s website would notify the shortlisted candidates of the date, time, and location of the verification of their authentic academic transcripts and other supporting documentation. Applicants
• A selection list based on merit in the ratio of 1:3 (number of posts advertised, number of candidates) shall be prepared and published on the aforementioned website following the completion of the process for verifying original and supporting documents, and such candidates shall be invited to take a Teaching Proficiency Test.
• A properly formed panel or board will administer the Teaching Proficiency Test.
• After the Teaching Proficiency Test, the candidates’ communication abilities, teaching methods, etc. will be evaluated in this test.

Principal

• Master’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% of marks.
• B.Ed degree from a recognized University
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in any Government / Semi-Government / Government-recognized/Private reputed CBSE/SEBA affiliated Senior Secondary (10+2) School / College including JNV/KV
• Good communication skills in English, Hindi and local vernacular languages.
• Good interpersonal skills, management & leadership quality, administrative ability & integrity, and computer proficiency.

Post Graduate Teacher – Arts/Science:

• Post Graduate Degree in Arts from a recognized University with a minimum 55% of marks in both Graduation and Post Graduation in the respective subject and
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the National Council for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s).

Graduate Teacher-Arts/Science:

• A Graduate in Arts with a Major (Honours) from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks and
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the National Council for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s).

Graduate Teacher-Hindi: 

• Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 55% marks and degree qualification with 55% marks or post Graduate degree in Arts with 55% marks with Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 55% marks from any recognized University, or,
• BA with 55% marks and having Hindi as one of the subjects with 55% marks or post Graduate in Arts with 55% marks provided that he has passed BA with one of the subjects as Hindi with 55% marks in Hindi
• B.Ed. degree from any recognized University (PARANGAT to be treated as BEd. degree only for the purpose of Hindi teaching).

Assistant Teacher-Arts/Science: 

• A Graduate in Arts from a recognized University with a minimum 55% marks and
• Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed.) from National Council for Teacher Education recognized Institution(s).
