Top Class Education Scholarship Scheme for SC Students: It is a project of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. This scholarship is provided mainly to students from Scheduled Castes (SC) who have applied for admission to undergraduate or graduate programs. So, this program aims to recognize and encourage Scheduled Caste students to continue their education beyond Class 12. Under this program, Govt awards 1,500 new scholarships each year.

The candidates must follow the eligibility criteria points to apply for the Top-Class Education Scholarship Scheme for SC Students:

• SC students whose family’s combined annual income is slightly more than Rs. 8.00 lakh are eligible.
• According to the general selection requirements outlined by the relevant institution, the student must be enrolled full-time in the specified course at one of the notified institutions.
• The scholarship will only be available to the top SC students if the number of admitted eligible students exceeds the number of slots given to the institution.
• Students from a lower family income will get an advantage while competing for the final spot in an institution if multiple students have comparable marks.
• The remaining SC students enrolled in the university are qualified to apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS), run by this Ministry through State governments and UT Administrations.
• If the institution determines that there are fewer qualified applicants in the first year than the number of slots, the remaining seats may be available to qualified applicants enrolled in the second, third, and fourth years, etc.
• The students who have more years left to complete their courses based on the inter-SC merit of the previous year’s results will get priority. Therefore second-year students are given preference over third-year students, and so on.
• According to their inter-SC merit, 30% of the spaces granted to the institution are reserved for qualified SC girl students. The spots may be given to eligible boy students if there are not enough female students to fill them.
• More than two siblings in a family will not be eligible for the benefits of the Scheme. The student must certify in writing to the institution that he or she is not the family’s third sibling who is receiving benefits under the Scheme.
• So, if the student is not advanced to the subsequent semester or class, the scholarship will expire.

Scholarship Benefits

The SC student will get following benefits by applying for Top Class Education Scholarship Scheme for SC Students: –

• For private sector institutions, selected students would receive total tuition expenses of up to Rs. 2 Lakh per student annually.
• For Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses in private sector flying clubs, students would pay tuition fees of Rs. 3.72 lakhs per year per student.
• They will contribute Rs. 3000 per student monthly towards the beneficiary’s living costs.
• Candidates would receive 5000 rupees each student per year towards their books and stationery costs.
• As one-time help for the duration of the course, they will receive the most recent laptop or computer from a reputable brand along with peripherals such as UPS and printer, with a cap of Rs. 45,000 per student.
• The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment will provide all financial support for the Program.
• So, the Students will get a scholarship as soon as the student has been admitted and has begun attending school.
• The Central Government will use a Direct Benefit Transfer mode to pay the university directly for tuition and other non-refundable expenses.
• Similarly, the Central Government would use Direct Benefit Transfer to pay the student for living expenses, books, stationery, and a computer or laptop with peripherals.

Terms and Conditions

The applicant will need to follow the terms and conditions given below to apply for the Top-Class Education Scholarship Scheme for SC Students: –

• The candidate must be the students of All of the IIMs, IITs, IIITs, AIIMS, NITs, NIFTs, NIDs, Indian Institute of Hotel Management, National Law Universities, OR Institutes listed as Top 100 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Institutions, OR Institutions of National Importance according to the list released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)
• SC Students of government-run and CPSE-run Commercial Pilot Training Courses and Type Rating Courses require the Director-General of Civil Aviation’s approval are also eligible for this scholarship.
• Male students may get the remaining 30% of scholarships if no female students are available.
• The scholarship will continue unless the pupils pass the annual final exam.
• Families will only be eligible for the scholarship if there are two children.
