Required Qualification

  • One must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) from UGC-recognized institutions. Provisional applicants awaiting results are eligible. Ph.D. holders before September 19, 1991, get a 5% relaxation. Foreign degree holders must verify equivalence through AIU, New Delhi.

TNSET 2024 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Duration: 3 hours for Paper I, 2 hours for Paper II
  • Papers: Paper I (common), Paper II (subject-specific)
  • Marks: Paper I (100 marks), Paper II (200 marks)
  • Questions: Paper I (50 MCQs), Paper II (100 MCQs)
  • Marking scheme: Each question will be of 2 marks, no negative marking for incorrect answers
  • Sections: Paper I assesses general knowledge, research aptitude, etc., while Paper II focuses on the candidate’s chosen PG subject.
  • Medium: English (except for Paper II of language subjects)
