PM Yasasvi Scholarship Scheme for OBC, EBC And DNTPM Students: The PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI) offers bright students from disadvantaged socioeconomic groups ongoing financial help. Through scholarships for students under the YASASVI program, the initiative focuses on the socioeconomic development of the Other Backward Class (OBC), Economically Backward Class (EBC), De-Notified, Nomadic, and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/SNT) populations.

The PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme aims to subsidize deserving OBC, EBC, and DNT students’ education from Class 9 onward until they pass Class 12 to provide them with a premium education. The application must be submitted online by January 31, 2023, at the latest.

PM Yasasvi Central Sector Scheme of Top-Class Education in Schools For OBC, EBC And DNT Students

All students of these categories attending elite institutions are designated by the program’s guidelines and with home incomes of less than Rs. 2.5 lakhs would be qualified for the program. Each will get number of scholarships based on available OBC population statistics. The scholarship would be approved based on merit and administered via the Internet portal.

Process of PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme

A screening committee would choose the top-performing schools that routinely receive 100% marks in Classes 10 and 12.

  • The Department of School Education and the NITI Ayog are both represented on the committee, established under the Joint Secretary’s (BC) direction. These schools shall be called “Top Class Schools (TCSs)” for this program.
  • The TCSs include private or public schools (federal, State, or municipal entities).
  • Each year in April, the number of scholarships is declared for each State and each class.
  • Girls will get at least 30% of these scholarships.
  • The National Scholarship Portal accepts scholarship applications from OBC, EBC, and DNT students who have already enrolled in TCSs and submitted their final test scores.
  • The Nodal Officers of the School must verify these applications online, and the State government must verify these applications online.
  • Based on the grades received in the final exam for the preceding class, the scholarship provider department creates separate State-level merit lists for boys and girls, and the scholarships will be automatically awarded based on merit.

Implementing Agency for the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India will implement this central sector component under the Centrally Sponsored scholarship plan with help from the State Governments and the National Scholarship Portal.

Release of Scholarships

  • The department transferred funds directly using Direct bank transfer (DBT) into beneficiaries’ accounts.
  • They make payments in installments released before each year’s August 15th deadline.
  • The system would be put into effect following GFR 017’s rules.

Eligibility and Amount for the Scholarship

The following are the conditions for issuing funds under the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme:

  • A committee with the Department of School Education and NITI Ayog, represented and chaired by the Ministry’s Joint Secretary (BC), will nominate the best schools that have consistently maintained a 100% pass rate in the 10th and 12th-grade exams.
  • To a maximum of Rs. 75,000 per year per student in grades 9 and 10, and Rs. 1,25,000 per year per student in grades 11 and 12, scholarships will be given for tuition, hostel fees, and other costs as determined by the school.

Conditions of PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme

  • Students applying for the program must have a bank account and include all pertinent information.
  • The selected school ought to have an Aadhaar-based attendance system that, if necessary, can be incorporated into a central portal.
  • Students in schools receiving financial aid under this Scheme are not eligible for financial assistance under any other Governmental program for the things or purposes already covered.

Monitoring under the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme

The selected portal shall enable students to update data on all specified performance metrics regularly.

  • Department uses A Real-time Data Management Information System (MIS) to get information to improve reporting on outcome indicators.
  • The department connects MIS via an API using the Output Outcome Monitoring Framework (OOMF) Dashboard.
  • Beneficiaries may occasionally be contacted by phone or in-person to inquire about the scheme’s effectiveness and to make judgments regarding the continuation or discontinuance of awards at any time.
  • According to its needs, the government can alter the terms and circumstances.

PM YASASVI Scheme Documents Needed 

Documents required to apply for this schema are as follows:

  • A class 10 passing certificate or a class 8 passing certificate are requirements for candidates.
  • The candidate must possess a certificate of income.
  • Candidate identification card.
  • Email and mobile phone numbers are required.
  • At least one of the following qualifications is required to apply for the scheme: OBC, EBC, DNT, SAR, NT, and SNT certificates, respectively.
