NEET (UG) 2024: National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test

The National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) is administered to prospective medical students throughout India by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The NEET UG Entrance Test is required of applicants who wish to study medicine, dentistry, AYUSH, or nursing in accredited and reputable government and private colleges, universities, and institutes in India. Every year, the NEET exam is administered in pen and paper format in roughly thirteen different national languages, covering the curriculum from the fields of biology, chemistry, and physics. Registration for the National Medical Entrance Examination, or NEET 2024, opened on February 9, 2024.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age Limit: He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or
    before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
  • For Candidates of General (UR)/General-EWS & For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD Category: Born on or before 31-12-2007
  • Age relaxation is application as per rules.

NEET (UG) 2024 Exam Date And Preparation Tips

  • Familiarize Yourself with the Syllabus: Obtain the official NEET 2024 syllabus and meticulously go through it. Ensure you understand the topics and subtopics that will be assessed in the exam.
  • Create a study plan: Develop a comprehensive study plan that covers all the subjects and allows for ample revision time. Distribute your study hours wisely, giving equal attention to each subject.
  • Obtain Reliable Study Materials: Acquire high-quality study materials, including textbooks, reference books, and online resources. Choose reputed sources that align with the NEET 2024 syllabus.
  • Practice Previous Year Question Papers: Solve NEET previous year question papers to familiarize yourself with the exam pattern and understand the types of questions asked. That way, you’ll get an indication of your level of preparation.
  • Mock Tests and Sample Papers: Take regular mock tests and solve sample papers to assess your progress. You’ll be able to learn how to manage time and increase your accuracy, too.

Exam Pattern

  • As per the NTA’s decision, every Subject in NEET 2024 is divided into two parts. The NTA NEET 2024 Exam Pattern comprises two sections:
  • Section A – 35 Questions
  • Section B – 15 Questions
  • A total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) are framed in the NTA NEET 2024 Question Paper.
  • Aspirants can attempt any 10 of the 15 questions that are mentioned in Section B.
  • As per NTA’s decision, an additional 20 minutes were added this year, so the total time for NEET UG 2024 is 200 minutes.
